Andrew Rubio is a current graduate student at UT- San Antonio under the guidance of Dr. Isaac Bustos. Originally from Houston, TX, Andrew resides in San Antonio where he has an established reputation for performing and teaching guitar. As a musician in residence at one of Franklin Park’s Retirement facilities, Andrew performs weekly as part of their life enrichment program. Andrew has won a number of ensemble competitions in Texas such as the Brownsville Guitar Festival and Texas Hill Country Guitar Festival. In his participation in festivals around the country, Andrew has a played in a number of masterclasses with great artists such as Adam Holzman, Eliot Fisk, Andrew Zohn, and Dennis Azabagic. Andrew hopes to pass on productive practice habits and expressive musicianship to his student’s playing.
